You Are a Masterpiece
We are God’s masterpieces. Not first attempts. Not rough drafts. Masterpieces, mommas. It is natural to look around and compare ourselves, but we all know that’s not the best way to go about life. When we compare, we make ourselves feel better or worse, and either way - it’s not an accurate assessment of our worth!
We ALL must realize that we are ALL different and that is a GOOD thing. That is exactly how God intended it to be. Maybe you have thick thighs or wide hips. Maybe God has blessed you with a head of tight curls or stick-straight hair. Maybe you have small feet like me or you’re taller than every other girl in the room, always. However you have been created momma, it is GOOD.
You may be comparing yourself to other women around you, or to the you who existed 5, 10, or even 20 years ago. If you stop and think about that for a few minutes, I hope you’ll realize how futile it is. We can’t go back in time and we can’t trade bodies with anyone else. God knit you together in your mother’s womb and He gave you the life that has brought you to where you and your body are today.
If you’re working toward getting healthy, figure out what is your range of healthy and set yourself a goal. If certain things tend to make you to go to a bad place in terms of your body image (social media?) then discipline yourself to stop looking at it. If you know other things are good for you and your body (taking a walk with a friend, going to the gym, making time to prepare healthy food) then work those things into your regular routine.
Above all, remember that we are all beautiful. You, momma, are a masterpiece.
