Question 1: I would love tips on motivating a green child. It takes my daughter forever to do anything but she’s an especially slow eater and getting ready for school is brutal. She’s very sweet and sensitive so getting on to her just doesn’t work.

Karen’s Answer: No, getting onto a Green just makes them go slower, remember they get what they want through procrastination.  I would wake her up earlier, don’t tell her just do it.  If she asks why I would just say because you need a little more time eating your breakfast.  If the tv is going during breakfast turn it off.  This week, try setting her alarm clock earlier!

Question 2: How can I help my kiddo navigate making friends at a new school (2nd grade)? My son was at a Christian school for K-1st and just started public school for 2nd grade.

Karen’s Answer:  All you can do is encourage him and pray for him.  Boys are harder to cultivate friendships, and a Green/Blue is going to move slower than normal in this area. He will find friends, it just might take several months. He will get there. Try not to nag him about his friends.
