Karen and guest host Katie Leipprandt are chatting with Arlene Pellicane today about how technology has impacted our parenting world. We talk about the ways we use technology as moms, the benefits and pitfalls of having a world of technology at arm's length and some boundaries we can consider putting in place to stay connected in our most important relationships - our families.
Questions from today’s conversation:
As someone who frequently speaks and writes specifically about families, I’m curious how you see technology in general changing the way we parent?
Do you think the age of the smartphone has helped create community for moms? (The ability to text, Marco Polo a friend, see updates on FB and IG) Or do you think it is actually isolating us by creating a false sense of community?
How do you see our constant phone use impacting our relationship with our kids?
The smart phone is not going away - how can we embrace the good while still establishing boundaries?
