Longtime podcaster and author Sarah Bragg joins us in The Nest to share a few lessons she’s learned about herself as she’s worked to raise her two daughters. We discuss how good and hard can run parallel to one another, why sometimes we have to say no to good things, and how to shut down the “shoulds” in our life and run our own race. Sarah’s new book, A Mother’s Guide to Raising Herself is out soon, be sure to pre-order your copy today!

Question 1: In the very first sentence of the introduction, you write, “I thought having kids was all about them being raised. What I didn’t know was how much they were going to raise me.” That’s such an interesting thought. Can you unpack what you mean by that?

Question 2: You wrote about how thinking about the beliefs your daughters have about themselves started you down the path of wondering about things you believed about yourself...what’s one of those beliefs that you have been able to change as a result of this reflection?

Question 3: Chapter 6 of your book is called, “You Can’t Have It All” and I gotta be honest, I love that! Tough love for us moms. Can you share what you mean by that and say it really loud for the moms in the back?!
