Why Are The 5 Love Languages Important?

If you want your child to truly feel all of the love I know you have for them, you need to learn to speak their love language. I talk about being a student of your child a lot, and a child’s love language is just one piece of the puzzle that will help you to know and love them well.

Which love language does your child speak the most? When you figure that out, it will help you to express your love to them. We all love our children so much, wouldn’t it be a shame for your child not to feel the love that you are pouring out? If their love language is quality time and you are constantly doing acts of service for them, you can see where you will be like ships passing in the night. That is not good.

It’s not that your quality time child won’t appreciate your acts of service or words of affirmation…but those don’t communicate, “I LOVE YOU!” to them quite as quickly. Similar to understanding your child’s color, speaking your child’s love language is a short cut you can use to communicate effectively with them. Pay attention during their younger years and learn to speak their language. I promise this ‘short cut’ will pay dividends in the adolescent years, when you have less time with your children and at times they can be hard to love!
