A Prayer For Hard Seasons

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
— Ecclesiastes 3:11

As moms, we experience every season of our children’s lives, from newborn, to toddler years, on through teenage years and into adulthood. Each season brings new challenges, sorrows and joys. Just as we see that seasons are natural in our children’s lives, so too, as women we will experience natural seasons of sorrow and joy in our lives.

I want to encourage you today that God will make everything beautiful in its own time. You may be in a difficult season right now, but one day you will see how God used these hard days to build strength and endurance in you and your child.

Try to look for joy even in the difficult season you are experiencing right now. Ask God to show you how to take the challenges that are ahead of you and turn them into a learning time, both for your child and you. God wants to teach all of us how to grow and depend on Him through every season of life. Many times, God will use suffering and difficulty to teach us some of the biggest lessons in life. What is God teaching you in your life right now? Is it patience, grace, self-control? We need all of these things as women of God.

Here is a prayer you can pray right now if you are walking through difficulty:

Father,

Help me enjoy each season of life I am in and not rush forward or wish for days gone by. I pray that I will look to You when life gets hard. I need Your wisdom and guidance concerning my life and the lives of my children. Thank You for always being there for me.
