Be Confident in Your Decisions

Mommas, we are having a crisis of confidence in ourselves these days! Maybe it has to do with how easy it is to see what “everyone else” is doing because of social media and our connectedness, but I am hearing from many moms who are second-guessing the decisions they are making for their family.

Of course I believe you should carefully think through the choices you make for your family, you should seek wise counsel when necessary, and you should pray about your decisions, but after you have done those things, move forward with confidence!

Whether you are choosing to gather with family or not to gather because of COVID this year, be confident in your decision. Whether you are choosing to participate in the magic of Santa or you have chosen to only focus on the birth of Jesus during Christmas, be confident in your decision.

Keep in mind that you and your husband are responsible for your immediate family, and because you are adults, you get to choose! To help boost your confidence, remember the verse, Genesis 2:4, "That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”

Oftentimes I think we second guess ourselves around our families who may be making different choices, but keep in mind that you are making the best decision for YOUR family. You don’t have to persuade anyone to agree with your opinion and others don’t have to like the choice you have made. Momma, God has given you authority over your children and tasked YOU (not your mother or mother in law!) with raising your children, so walk confidently in the task He has set before you.

I hope that helps bring you joy as you navigate tough decisions this season!
