Where Were You When I Laid the Earth's Foundation?

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:
“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.”

“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone—
while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?

Our country is in the midst of this pandemic sweeping throughout the whole world, and it can and does leave us full of fear at times.

Fear of the unknown, fear of being out of control, fear of what the future will hold. It’s easy to get in the habit of reading the news every day, even multiple times each day, and scrolling social media, constantly reading everyone’s updates and statuses, but I want to challenge you moms to get in the habit of reading God’s Word in these days. It is Holy Week - the days leading up to our celebration of Christ’s victory for us - and I want you to fill your mind with God’s truth. He knows our circumstances. He is in control. He loves us.

During uncertain times it always helps me to focus on how BIG God is, and how he will get us through this horrific season. This past week I have been reading the book of Job, and when I read through chapters 38-41 I am reminded that God is bigger than anything. This brings me hope.

We also need to be praying, mommas. Pray for safety of family and loved ones, pray for our nations and their leaders.  Pray for the future, and lay each of our burdens at God’s feet.  This doesn’t mean God will instantly remove the suffering, but it sets our minds straight when we cast our burdens at His feet and acknowledge we can’t do much about what’s happening in our world, but He can.
