A Few Of Our Favorite Things
10 days ‘til Christmas and if you’re not still shopping, you’re our hero! Seriously, how do you do it?
For those of you, like us, who are still working your Santa magic, here are a few things the BOAW staff is planning to buy (or make) for gifts this year!
My girls and I love to make these sweet treats and package them up cute for teachers and small group leaders. They are addicting! :)
I love to give this little book (written by a good friend of mine!) to neighbors and new mama friends at this time of year.
I also love to gift frozen homemade cookie dough in tins! People eat so many sweets in December, I like to give them something they can bake later in January when their sweets supply has run out.
I’m obsessed with these Moleskine journals and don’t know who couldn’t use an extra notebook in their life! They come in dozens of colors so you can gift one that feels just right to the recipient.
Thumbprint Cookies are one of my favorite things! This year, Emily’s daughter, Harper, joined me to make some for our friends and the BOAW staff. (They may not have been as pretty as if I was making them alone, but they tasted just as good and we had FUN!)

Last year, I gave Jasmine Road Candles as hostess gifts and to friends. The Evergreen Candle is my favorite. It’s for a great cause and it smells wonderful.
For friends who love coffee, I like to get a specialty coffee like Methodical Coffee for them. (Also a great gift if you are spending the night at someone's home.) You can get one bag or a subscription.
I splurged a few years ago on Ugg Slippers because I wear them everyday and I love them. Now, my husband, Brett, gets them for me each year.
Okay - this is one I have done for neighbors a few times now over the years. Stovetop potpourri! It smells amazing, and this blogger has printable gift tags that make it super cute too.
This year I am upgrading things the people close to me use a lot! For example, I’m getting new fun works socks for my Dad and boyfriend, a cool Apple Watch band for my sister, a new rug for my mom’s living room, etc. This is stuff they already have and is “fine” but they have mentioned they would like to change!
We love doing a porch snack basket for delivery drivers and just got it all set up this morning! My kids love watching out the window as drivers come up to the porch and watching to see if and what they grab.
For us, this sets the tone for a season of giving (even if it’s small) vs. the get, get, get mentality that kids can so easily slip into!
We hope one of these ideas is something you’ll love incorporating into your gift-giving routine. What is something you gift every year? Let us know in the comments!
