You Are Perfectly Paired With Your Child

I hope by now you’ve had a chance to listen to this week’s episode of Wire Talk. Ladies, this is one powerful episode. If you haven’t already, make it a point to listen in this week!

Cady Dugger joined us to talk about her family’s journey parenting a child (who is now a teenager) with special needs. It was helpful for me to hear her perspective. Cady didn’t sugarcoat how difficult this path has been for her family, but she is digging in and doing what she has to do as a mom. Regardless of whether you have a child with special needs or not, I think you’ll benefit from listening.

God has given us each the particular children He has placed into our hands for His purpose. Sometimes there is grief attached to the process of raising a child. Cady is grieving what she thought mothering her oldest child would look like. This grieving hasn’t ended, but Cady was clear that she knows God is with her as she walks through this valley.

We (and our spouses) do not bear the burden of raising our children alone. God is with us and He is working through us to raise our kids. To try and face this task without leaning into our God is foolishness, ladies. We can’t do it on our own. BUT, God can.

I pray we all will get there as moms. To be able to rest in the knowledge that, "I can’t, but God can." Pray daily that God would give you this perspective. He perfectly paired you with your child and He will and work through you to raise up the child you have been given.
