Red Moms, You Have To Give Up the Illusion of Control

Red Moms are fiercely loyal and decisive. They are strong leaders and hard workers. They see things in a positive light and have a “can- do” attitude, which makes running a household something they do well and seemingly with ease.

But when they are not walking by the Spirit, reds can be blunt and bossy. They want their own way, think they are always right and use anger to control situations. A red moms’ desire for control is usually her greatest weakness when it comes to parenting. If you as a red mom believe that you must be in control to have worth, to be successful as a mom, and to keep your child safe, that is a lie. What is true is this:

▪   God’s power is made perfect in my weakness. 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10

▪   God guides the humble in what is right. Psalm 25:9

▪   My security comes from knowing Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22

▪   I am to look to the Lord and his strength. 1 Chronicles 16:11

We have to renew our minds with God’s truth! God did wire ‘redness’ into your DNA, but your desire for control is a weakness. Lean into Him, give up the illusion of control, and make God’s sovereignty in your life and the life of your child the strength that you lean on.
